Apr 17th Stop Global Warming College Tour Murphreesboro Sheryl and Laurie Blog
Dear Readers,
Spending the past week speaking to thousands of college students across the Southeast, the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech has really hit home. We would like to take this opportunity to send our sympathies to the families and friends of the victims. In remembrance of those taken from us this past Monday in Blacksburg, we are taking a moment of silence at each tour stop this week.
-Sheryl & Laurie
Last night, driving our 8 hour drive from Gainesville, Florida to Nashville, TN, Laurie learned a very important bus etiquette rule – that somehow, she had missed from the week before.
When Ms Crow’s curtain on her bunk is closed that means….DO NOT DISTURB!
Nashville was full of surprises. Apparently our bus is hard to miss. So much so that even former Vice Presidents can find it. Al Gore stopped by for a great visit and got a personal tour of the inside of our bio-diesel bus. Laurie demonstrated how when the curtain is closed, it means DO NOT DISTURB. Sheryl reiterated.
After Gore’s visit, country music star Jack Ingram, (winner of the only award Sheryl was up for last night at the CMT awards) stopped by. No worries, she’s not bitter. He made it up to her by announcing that he would become the newest marcher on the Stop Global Warming Virtual March. You can read Jack Ingram's statement here
Tonight we are here at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). What a fantastic University as demonstrated by the student’s overwhelming support to increase their own fees so the school could purchase renewable energy and promote efficiency on campus. Now that’s what we’re talking about!
