As you know, I am a strong proponent of protecting the wild horse population. As of Tuesday,  it is very possible that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) could begin killing thousands of wild horses.  Please read below and make your position supporting the protection of these animals known.  For more info, contact www.thecloudfoundation.org.

The BLM could start killing wild horses as soon as next week and we cannot allow this to happen.
BLM has removed 40% of wild horses from the wild over the past 8 years, far more than could possibly be adopted. This has left the majority of wild horse herds in the west genetically non-viable.

Now the BLM has over 33,000 wild horses in holding and says they can no longer afford to feed them. The BLM has created this budget crisis and so they have proposed killing the horses to solve it.

The National Advisory Board meeting is this Monday (Nov. 17th) in Reno, the board is stacked against wild horses and we fear that they will okay killing our horses as a solution.
The American public must speak out on behalf of these wonderful animals - NOW

Please act now to save America’s wild horses, here are some things you can do
·     Contact your local papers, radio stations and national media outlets.
·     Contact both your Senators and your Representative: call 202-224-3121 or visit www.congress.org for contact information.
·     Contact President-Elect Obama at change.gov to ask that he take immediate action to protect our wild horses. We must also make sure that any BLM budget increases do not go to funding increased round-ups and the killing of horses.

Today,  we will elect the next President of the United States.  The result will have great consequences for the nation.  This election offers a choice between two men with dramatically different visions of the future.  We have strong feelings about this choice.  But we feel even more strongly that all Americans, regardless of political preference, have a stake in the outcome and should vote in this critical election.
 
This is likely to be a close election.
