We have just completed the second leg of our US summer tour and I have got to let you all know about our new favorite artist: Brandi Carlile. She was our special guest for, sadly, only just a few shows during our latest swing through the Mid West.
Man, this gal is off the hook.
She has the most amazing voice I may have ever heard. Soulful. Country. Perfect in every way....and propelled by taste. No big crazy vocal gymnastics, just sweet renderings of some pretty great songs. She even gave Johnny a run for his money on "Folsom Prison Blues."
She had the audience in the palm of her hands, like no other opening act I've ever seen.
Please go check her out.
We want to keep these young artists out there making music and bringing it to you live, and the only way that can happen is if you buy the records and come out and support them when they come through your town.
It's your way of voting, see!

I am blogging from Los Angeles where we have just finished and released my new video for "Out of Our Heads."
I am really excited about it. This song is, perhaps, the most important song on the record. When sending it out to radio as a single, we were met with a lot of reticence over it's "political" themes. I don't feel the song is political but instead very honest. Moreover, I feel it to be a very hopeful song about the possibility that exists in all of us to reach greatness if motivated purely from the heart.
I heard the Dalai Lama speak 3 years ago in Sun Valley. His message was on compassion. His anointed thought was that if all people, from all walks of life, were motivated purely from a place of compassion, the world would be in a completely different place.
I know that daily life is challenging but I think about that idea throughout my days and it seems to make things less conflicted.
This video is filled with people we all know... I will leave it at that, except to say, I am really proud of it.

Sheryl Crow will be performing in the Mercedes-Benz Summer Concert Series on The Tonight Show - Tuesday, June 10, 2008. This is our opportunity to invite some Sheryl Crow fans for the outdoor performance!
This show isn't open to everyone. Only the first 125 fans to RSVP to the email address below will be admitted. If you're admitted you'll receive email confirmation with directions and day of the event instructions!

Each pre-sale window is only a couple days, and only certain cities/dates are available for pre-sale on June 3rd (details below), with more pre-sales added soon. Sheryl and James are going green this summer with new initiatives to revamp and "green" their concerts both on and offstage. We will also give you the opportunity to neutralize pollution from your drive to and from the show.
